When to renew?

Renewing a personal-production registration

This pathway involves two separate decisions. The practitioner first reassesses your situation and decides whether issuing a new medical document is appropriate. Health Canada then recommends that it receive the renewal application and original medical document at least 8 weeks before the certificate expires. If the agency receives the application before expiry, the existing registration remains valid until it makes a decision.
