How workers' compensation reimburses medical cannabis

Workers' compensation boards — WSIB in Ontario, WCB in Alberta, British Columbia and other provinces, and the CNESST in Quebec — may reimburse medical cannabis in certain accepted work-injury or occupational-disease files, when the treatment is medically supported and tied to an accepted claim. Each board sets its own rules.

In Quebec, CNESST guidance generally limits reimbursement to the equivalent of 3 grams of dried cannabis per day, or 90 grams per month, and generally covers ingested or transdermal formats rather than inhaled cannabis; it does not reimburse personal production.
