When should you renew your medical document?

In Canada, the period of use stated on a medical cannabis document cannot exceed one year. The exact expiry appears on your document or in your account with the licensed medical seller. Starting before it expires helps avoid an administrative interruption.

You do not have to return to your previous clinic

Coverleaf can assess a renewal request from an existing Coverleaf patient or someone coming from another clinic. Have your current document, medication list, and information about the products and doses you use available. Do not send sensitive medical information through the public form below; our team will direct you to the appropriate channel.

A renewal remains a clinical decision

The practitioner reviews your situation, response to treatment, adverse effects, current medications and goals. They may maintain, change or decline the authorization based on their clinical judgment. Coverleaf never guarantees renewal or a specific daily amount.

The renewal service is paid. Coverleaf does not charge renewal fees to Veterans and eligible CNESST patients; the applicable program or claim requirements still apply.
